About

Formed in Manchester in 1998, Proud Mary made waves with their debut album The Same Old Blues (2001) on Noel Gallagher’s Sour Mash Records. Drawing on influences from Dylan, The Rolling Stones, and The Faces, Greg Griffin’s powerhouse vocals and Paul Newsome’s songwriting established a signature sound.

Produced with Noel Gallagher and Gem Archer in just ten days, the album won acclaim, leading to a series of follow-ups including Love and Light (2004), Ocean Park (2010), Pilgrim Fields (2013), and Songs From Catalina (2020), recorded in Palma, Majorca.

Proud Mary have toured worldwide, played the Isle of Wight Festival main stage, and supported acts like Oasis, Neil Young, Paul Weller, and Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds. Known for their electrifying live shows, the band returns in 2026, ready to revisit the songs that have made them a favourite in rock’n’roll circles.
